2019 - 2023 SCPDIAMemorandum of Understanding: Article 20: Compassionate Leave
Article 20 Compassionate Leave
With respect to this Article, the term “spouse” shall also include domestic partner. A full-time or part-time employee may be granted up to three (3) of the employee’s regular work days of leave with pay, in the event of death of the employee's spouse, child, stepchild, son-in-law, daughter-in-law, brother, brother-in-law, sister, sister-in-law, grandparent, great-grandparent, grandchild or person who served as a parent to the employee when the employee was a minor, and the mother or father of the employee or of the spouse of the employee. Where travel in excess of 300 miles one way from the employee’s residence is required, up to an additional two (2) of the employee’s regular work days of sick leave may be used to supplement compassionate leave.
