Safe Routes to School for High Schools

The County of Sonoma is pleased to invite you to respond to a Request for Proposal for Safe Routes to School for High Schools.
The County of Sonoma, Department of Health Services (DHS), in partnership with the Sonoma County Department of Transportation and Public Works (TPW), was awarded regional Surface Transportation Program (STP) grant through the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC) to conduct a two-year program providing comprehensive SRTS services to approximately 37 schools throughout Sonoma County, three of which are high schools.
The goals of the Sonoma County SRTS project are to:
- Increase the number of children safely walking and bicycling to school>
- Increase the health and safety of children and the community
- Reduce pollution and traffic congestion around schools
- Create safer, calmer streets and neighborhoods
- Develop a sustainable Safe Routes to School program in Sonoma County
