Free flu vaccine clinics in February and March
Flu is surging in Sonoma County and the best way to lower the risk for you and your family is to get a flu shot. The Sonoma County Department of Health Services is offering free flu vaccines at Café Puente at 610 E. Washington St., #C, Petaluma:
- Friday, Feb. 21 | 4-7 p.m.
- Saturday, Feb. 22 | 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
- Tuesday, March 11 | 3:30-6:30 p.m.
- Saturday, March 15 | 11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.
While flu shots are recommended for everyone, they’re especially important for those in regular contact with dairy cows and poultry.

Free e-waste recycling events Feb. 21 - 23
Zero Waste Sonoma and Conservation Corps North Bay are hosting a free e-waste recycling event Friday through Sunday, Feb. 21-23, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Cloverdale Citrus Fairgrounds, 1 Citrus Fair Drive in Cloverdale.
No appointment is necessary. Accepted items include cell phones, tablets, computers, laptops, printers, stereos, TVs, video game consoles and more. Appliances, batteries, lamps, lightbulbs and more are not accepted.

Free online wildfire preparedness workshop Feb. 26
Join the County of Sonoma’s Energy and Sustainability staff and special guest Mimi Enright, UC Master Gardener, for a free online workshop on wildfire preparedness. Learn about defensible space, structural hardening and how to create a plan to protect your home.
Presentations will also cover financing options and available resources to help you get started. All registrants will receive a copy of the slides and recording after the workshop—attendance not required.
