All landlords in unincorporated Sonoma County must provide information regarding termination of a tenancy within three days of giving notice, regardless of basis for termination or whether just cause protections apply.

Landlords whose property is covered by Just Cause protections under California Tenant Protection Act, as augmented by the Sonoma County Residential Tenancy Protections Ordinance, must also provide certain information to tenants upon termination, including by distributing required informational materials in English and in Spanish.

Landlords whose property is covered by Just Cause protections under California Tenant Protection Act as augmented by the Sonoma County Residential Tenancy Protections Ordinance, and who are evicting a tenant for a no-fault basis under the Act such that relocation payments are required by the terms of the Act must pay the greater of actual rent or fair market rental value, as determined by the calculations made by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the appropriate number of bedrooms within Sonoma County.
