Message From County Administrator
Published: August 20, 2020
Dear County Family,
Once again we find ourselves battling wildfires in our community. It gives me great pain when I hear that County employees have lost their homes as a result of these latest fires. Over the course of today, I heard about two of our county employees who have lost homes. I also know many of you have been evacuated and are anxious to get back home.
I wanted to reach out to let you know how much I appreciate your dedication and steadfastness to helping our residents and our community recover from this most recent disaster, all in the midst of a pandemic gripping our nation. And for those of you working as disaster service workers or on the frontlines of our COVID response, I want to extend a very special thank you! Your services are critical to the health and well-being of our community.
On Tuesday night, I declared a local emergency, which the Board of Supervisors will be ratifying on August 21 during a special board meeting. I know our County family will once again rally to the occasion, and we will get through this latest challenge stronger and more resilient.
Thank you again for your service to our community!
Please be safe.
Sheryl
