Environmental Health provides services to ensure a safe and healthy environment in Sonoma County through education, monitoring, and enforcement of local, state, and federal regulatory programs and services for the community. Environmental Health regulates the following programs: retail food safety; public swimming pools; recreational water; emergency response; leaking underground storage tank cleanup; medical waste and body art. In addition, Environmental Health serves as the Solid Waste Local Enforcement Agency on behalf of the state.
