Republic Services of Sonoma County, Inc. operates a large central landfill, located outside of Petaluma as well as four smaller transfer stations, located in Annapolis, Guerneville, Healdsburg, and Sonoma.

Reuse & Recycling Center

Republic Services also administers the Reuse & Recycling Center. Recyclables such as scrap metal, cardboard, glass, metal and plastic containers, and newspaper are accepted at the Central Landfill site, and all four transfer stations located in Annapolis, Guerneville, Healdsburg, and Sonoma. Landfill and Transfer Stations are closed on the following holidays: New Year's Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas.

If you're looking to donate household goods, building materials, toys, clothing, and other reusable items that can be offered for sale to others, then check out Recycletown Reuse Area adjacent to the recycling drop-off zone at Central Landfill. Recycletown is operated by Garbage Garbage Reincarnation, Inc., a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. Items donated to Recycletown are tax-deductible.
