County Parking Tickets & Citations
Sonoma Public Infrastructure, Facility Development and Management division handles the adjudication of parking tickets issued by a variety of agencies throughout Sonoma County. The agencies are:
- Sonoma County General Services
- Sonoma County Sheriff
- Regional Parks
- Spring Lake (Regional Parks)
- California Highway Patrol (CHP) – Sonoma County
- Emergency Services
- Sonoma County Airport
If your citation is not from one of the agencies listed above, please contact the citing agency directly with any questions.
How to Pay a Parking Citation
Deadline: Payments must be made within 21 days of the date the citation was issued. If the payment is not received on time, a late fee will be applied at the discretion of the citing agency.
Ways to Pay:
- By phone: Call 1-888-207-5718 and follow the steps.
- Online: Go to https://www.paymycite.com/sonomacounty
- By mail: Mail the citation and the citation amount by check or money order to:

Note: If you pay with a credit or debit card, a processing fee will be added.
Payment Plans
If you’re having trouble paying a citation, you may qualify for a monthly payment plan if you can show proof of financial hardship as set forth in CVC 40220.
- You must apply within 120 days of the citation date, or within 10 days after an administrative review or hearing decision.
- Payment plans can last up to 24 months, and late fees may be removed if approved.
- If you stop paying, you’ll have 45 days to catch up before late fees come back and a hold is placed with the DMV.

How to Contest a Parking Citation
You can challenge a citation within 21 days of the issue date.
- Fill out the contesting form at https://www.paymycite.com/sonomacounty
- Include any photos or documents that support your case.
- Once submitted, your citation is on hold until reviewed.
- A decision letter will be mailed to you.

- If your ticket is dismissed, you don’t need to do anything else.
- If your ticket is upheld, you’ll have 21 days from the letter date to pay or appeal.
Citations Eligible for Fine Reduction
If you are cited for either of the violations listed below, you may qualify for a fine reduction.
- CVC 5204 - Expired Tags
- CVC 5200 - Missing Plates
To qualify:
- Show proof of correction within 30 days of the citation date.
- You’ll need to have the correction verified and signed off by a law enforcement officer or an authorized member of the Parking Administrative unit by appointment.
