CERTAIN TYPES OF TENANCIES ARE NOT PROTECTED. See Cal. Civ. Code § 1946.2, and Sonoma County Ordinance No. 6496 for exceptions.

The Sonoma County Residential Tenancy Protections Ordinance applies to your rental unit. Your landlord must have one of the reasons specified in the Ordinance or the California Tenant Protection Act in order to end your tenancy. Reasons that are not listed in the Ordinance or the Act, such as the sale of the property, are not valid causes for eviction.
