Sonoma County Fifth Supervisorial District to host “We Take Care of Us” virtual town hall on November 20

West Sonoma County residents are invited to a November 20 virtual town hall that will showcase local organizations and the support they provide to the community. The town hall will include remarks from Rep. Jared Huffman, Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and Assemblymember Damon Connolly. 

“I’m hearing from folks in our community who are grieving or frightened about what the next four years will mean for them and their loved ones,” said District 5 Supervisor Lynda Hopkins, who represents the area. “It’s natural to feel fear when the future seems uncertain. But knowing the resources available - and how to access them - can help us better navigate the challenges ahead. Our community is filled with people who care, and we look out for one another.”

Following introductory remarks and a pre-recorded statement from Congressman Jared Huffman, Supervisor Hopkins, Assemblymember Connolly and leaders from local organizations will provide an overview of their resources, initiatives, and the positive impact they're making in the community. They'll also share various opportunities for the community to get involved and contribute to their efforts.

“With growing community concern about the results of the election and what it means for the future, it is more important than ever that we band together as neighbors to share resources and support,” said Assemblymember Connolly, “This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about what resources are available as we prepare for the coming federal administration and learn how to get involved as a community. I am looking forward to this show of community resilience, and it is my hope that we can continue to support each other in our community and across California.”

The public will be invited to post questions in the Q&A box on Zoom. However, direct verbal testimony will not be permitted.
