Avelo Airlines Adds New Nonstop Service to Palm Springs from the North Bay Area

Avelo Airlines announced today new nonstop service to Palm Springs, California from the North Bay Area’s Charles M. Schulz-Sonoma County Airport (STS). Avelo will fly this route twice weekly on Fridays and Mondays beginning on November 11.

Sonoma County continues investment in resilient infrastructure with new portable solar-powered EV chargers

The Board of Supervisors today authorized a funding agreement with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for $791,200 in federal funds to purchase six portable solar-powered electric vehicle charging stations and an emergency back-up power trailer as part of Sonoma County’s Equitable Energy Resilience and Electric Vehicle Infrastructure Project. The funding will be matched with $595,403 from the County’s Climate Resilience Fund for a project total of $1,386,603.

Passenger traffic at Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport was up 4 percent from 2022 to 2023 and is up 15 percent so far this year, according to data shared with the Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. Overall, there were 82,710 commercial and general flights in and out of the airport in 2023 and 641,178 total airline passengers.
