We are thrilled to announce a paid student internship position with the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors' Fifth District office.  This is an exceptional opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the welfare of our community and gain significant professional experience.

About the Board of Supervisors:

The Board of Supervisors plays a crucial role in enacting legislation, establishing policies, and setting priorities for the operation of Sonoma County government. We oversee functions and activities across numerous branches, providing county-wide services in health, welfare, elections, public protection, and municipal services such as fire protection, law enforcement, and road maintenance in unincorporated areas.

Internship Details:

Team Collaboration: Interns work alongside experienced staff members, gaining insights and participating actively in various aspects of county governance.

Diverse Experience: Responsibilities include assisting in planning and coordinating community events, creating informational materials, conducting outreach to organizations and stakeholders, and engaging in community meetings. Fluency in both written and spoken Spanish and / or video production skills are desired.

Time Commitment: 8-12 hours per week for 8 weeks. 

Rate of Pay: $21.55-$22.62 / hour

Skills and Learning Opportunities:

Community Engagement: Play a role in the planning and execution of community events, gaining skills in event management and public communication.

Policy Insight: Gain exposure to County policies, procedures, and departments, enhancing your understanding of public policy and government operations.

Problem-Solving: Engage in hands-on problem-solving for various community concerns, offering feedback and recommendations to the office staff.
