Join Sonoma County for an overview of the draft 2026 Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
The Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan is updated on a five-year cycle and is required to maintain County eligibility for FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants. The plan analyzes the County’s risk from natural hazards, identifies County mitigation capabilities, and outlines a strategy that reduces the County’s risk from natural hazards.
Sonoma County and 21 participating jurisdictions initiated the plan update in 2024. The planning process was a collaborative effort among County departments, municipal governments, community-based organizations, technical experts, and State and Federal agencies.
The public comment period will open October 20, 2025, and will remain open through November 10, 2025. To view the draft 2026 Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan, visit Sonoma County Multi-Jurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan - 2026 Update.
