Kimberly Fitzgerald

Kimberly Fitzgerald has advocated for indigent clients accused of crimes at both the trial and appellate level for over two decades. She joined the Sonoma County Public Defender’s Office in August 2022 and was promoted to Assistant Public Defender in August 2024. Previously, she worked at the Marin County Public Defender’s Office and the First District Appellate Project. She taught appellate advocacy at her alma mater and coached high school mock trial teams. She also serves on the Legislative Committee for the California Public Defenders Association. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Ecology from the University of California, Irvine and a Juris Doctorate from Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco.
