Quality Parenting Initiative
What is Sonoma County’s Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI)?
QPI, the Quality Parenting Initiative, is a call to action to improve the lives of kids and families involved in the foster care system. It is a national movement for foster care change to ensure that all children in care receive excellent parenting and have lasting relationships so they can thrive and grow.
Research has demonstrated that strong, positive relationships are the best intervention we can offer children to enable them to heal as they grow up to become adults. Through policy and practice change, QPI strives to create a system where caregivers, parents, and social workers partner to put the child first because all children in foster care deserve to reach their full potential.
