Community Development
The Community Development Commission's mission is to create homes for all in thriving and inclusive neighborhoods. We strive to do this by making strategic investments in housing and capital projects to ultimately connect where people live to where they work, play, and experience the community.
We and our partner County departments operate a number of programs providing regulatory incentives and financing to promote and assist in the development and preservation of housing that is affordable, available, and accessible to the County’s low-income and workforce residents.
Services for Residents
Affordable Housing Inventory
This inventory of rental housing units by jurisdiction was compiled by the Sonoma County Community Development Commission to assist Sonoma County renters in locating affordable units.
Housing Rehabilitation Program
The Sonoma County Community Development Commission administers a Housing Rehabilitation Loan Program to provide financial assistance for owner-occupants in need of repairs on their single-family homes or mobile homes, and owners of rental properties where at least half of the tenants are low-income households.
Mobilehome Space Rent Ordinances
The Community Development Commission can provide information regarding local mobilehome space rent stabilization and rent increases. Other questions involving mobilehome registration, titling, and violations of state law may be handled by the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD).
