SoCoAlert emergency alert exercise in Sonoma Valley on Saturday

Sonoma County will be conducting a test of the SoCoAlert emergency notification system at 12 noon on Saturday in the Sonoma area. The County Department of Emergency Management and Sonoma Valley partners including the Springs Municipal Advisory Committee and the Springs Map Your Neighborhood group have collaborated on planning the exercise and conducting outreach in the targeted neighborhoods. NOAA weather radio emergency alert test Friday

The County of Sonoma and the National Weather Service Bay Area are conducting an emergency alert test of NOAA weather radios on Friday, April 29, at noon. The test will be countywide for residents who own a NOAA weather radio. After the test, participants are encouraged to provide feedback on whether or not the test message was received by their radio. County of Sonoma Board of Supervisors to hold annual budget workshops April 25 to April 27

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors will hold its annual budget workshops on April 25, 26 and 27 to provide county residents and taxpayers an opportunity to learn about the 2022-2023 fiscal year preliminary spending plan and provide input to the Board before it adopts a final budget in June. The County of Sonoma fiscal year runs July 1 through June 30. Read full story

Sonoma County, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital reach trauma center agreement

The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved an agreement to continue using Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital as a level II trauma center, while addressing neighbors’ concerns about noise and air quality from medical helicopters that serve the hospital. Read full story

County of Sonoma seeking public input regarding Graton Rancheria Resort & Casino expansion plans

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria have issued a Notice of Preparation of a Tribal Environmental Impact Report for the proposed Graton Resort & Casino expansion project. The County of Sonoma is seeking the public’s input to inform its own comments on the Notice of Preparation, which are due on May 4. Sonoma County residents encouraged to participate in Shake Out earthquake drill on April 18

Sonoma County residents are encouraged to take part in the Sonoma County Shake Out drill to be held on April 18 at 10 a.m., an annual exercise during national earthquake preparedness month. The drill will provide the community an opportunity to practice drop-cover-hold on, which is the recommended action to stay safe when an earthquake hits. Read full story
