The Sonoma County Treasurer-Tax Collector is notifying homeowners that the California Mortgage Relief Program has raised the limit for assistance with delinquent property taxes from $20,000 to a maximum of $80,000 per household. Read full story

At the March 14th Board of Supervisors meeting, our Board approved an ordinance to prohibit new retail fuel stations and prohibit expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure for existing retail fuel stations. This follows in the footsteps of several other jurisdictions in Sonoma County, including Petaluma and Sebastopol, and has been a priority for myself and Supervisor Hopkins (in our work on the Board's Climate Ad Hoc) for some time. Sonoma County health officer provides final COVID community update
Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase today provided her final COVID-19 community update before stepping down at the end of this week after three years in her post. Her recorded message includes the latest numbers on COVID cases and vaccinations in Sonoma County and includes lessons learned during the past three years of the pandemic. Read full story
Dr. Kismet Baldwin-Santana to be appointed Sonoma County’s interim Health Officer
Dr. Kismet Baldwin-Santana, an experienced public health official who helped lead Sonoma County’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, has been named interim health officer by the director of the Department of Health Services. A pediatrics specialist with a master’s degree in public health, Dr. Baldwin-Santana has served as Sonoma County’s deputy public health officer since July 2020. Read full story

Michelle Whitman selected as executive director of Sonoma County Community Development Commission
Michelle Whitman, executive director for the Renewal Enterprise District since 2019, has been selected to lead the Sonoma County Community Development Commission. The appointment by County Administrator Maria Christina Rivera is scheduled to be approved by the Board of Supervisors on April 18. Read full story
Board Approves Major Infrastructure Investment Project for Maintenance of Aging Water Storage Tanks
On Tuesday, April 4, the Board of Directors of the Sonoma County Water Agency (Sonoma Water) approved a $6 million contract for recoating two major water storage tanks, Cotati Tank No. 1 and Kastania Tank, the largest infrastructure upgrade project to date. Read full story
