Advanced in-person voting to expand for June election
Beginning this Saturday, registered voters in Sonoma County who have not already voted in the June 7 statewide direct primary election, may vote in advance of Election Day in person at one of 31 vote centers located throughout the county. In-person voting has been available since May 28 at seven vote centers, but an additional 24 vote centers will be open from June 4 to Election Day. All vote centers will be open June 4 to June 6, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Election Day, June 7, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Read full story

Sonoma Water Petitions State for Critical Water Condition for Russian River as Severe Drought Enters Third Consecutive Year
On Wednesday, May 25 Sonoma Water (Sonoma County Water Agency) filed Temporary Urgency Change Petitions (TUCP) with the State Water Resources Control Board to establish a Critical water supply condition for both the upper and lower Russian River as the drought continues. Under Critical water supply conditions, the Russian River would have minimum instream flow requirements of 25 cfs and 35 cfs in the upper and lower river, respectively. Read full story

Board of Supervisors approve $39 million in ARPA funding for 27 community proposals
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today allocated $39 million in American Rescue Plan Act funding to support disproportionately impacted individuals and households who have suffered economic impacts as well as disparities in public health outcomes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The support will come through 27 community investment proposals identified by the Board of Supervisors that will receive contracts starting in July. Read full story
County completes $660,000 in renovations to Cloverdale swimming pool
The Sonoma County Department of General Services will host a ceremony Friday to celebrate the completion of a $660,000 joint community project to renovate the aging swimming pool at the Veterans Memorial Building in Cloverdale. Read full story
Board approves $14.4 million to address homelessness and housing in Sonoma County
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved $14.4 million to address the region’s housing and homelessness crises, including $11.8 million in federal and state grant funding for Continuum of Care and local homeless services programming. An additional $2.6 million from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development would directly support local homeless service providers. Read full story
Sonoma County collects over $500,000 in sales tax funds for behavioral health, homelessness
Sonoma County’s Department of Health Services today reported to the Board of Supervisors that more than $500,000 in Measure O funds have been collected to date to support mental health and homelessness services, two major priorities for the Board of Supervisors. Read full story
