Permit Sonoma Fire Prevention to close Chipper Program applications for 2022
Permit Sonoma Fire Prevention Division announced that it will be closing seasonal applications for its Curbside Chipper Program on Oct. 1, 2022. County releases detailed 2022 homeless point-in-time count, updates camping ordinance
The Board of Supervisors today received a presentation detailing the complete Homeless Point-in-Time Count report for 2022. A total of 2,893 homeless individuals were counted during the one-day census taken on Feb. 25, 2022, an increase of about 5 percent from the 2,745 individuals counted in 2020. Overall, however, the number represents a significant decline in numbers for the county over the past decade. Read full story

Sonoma County to host Induction Cooking Expo
The County of Sonoma’s Climate Action and Resiliency Division is set to host an Induction Cooking Expo in Santa Rosa on Saturday, Sept. 24 to highlight the environmental benefits of using electromagnetism to heat pots and pans. Board of Supervisors approve community engagement and language access agreements
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today took the first steps in developing language access and community engagement plans to ensure broader involvement with county government by members of all communities. Using $710,000 in American Rescue Plan Act funds, the Board on Tuesday approved agreements with two consultants to work with the county’s Office of Equity in developing a language access plan, a community engagement plan, and policy recommendations for all county departments.
