SONOMA COUNTY DISTRICT ATTORNEY SETTLES CIVIL CONSUMER PROTECTION ACTION AGAINST NAKED WINES
Sonoma County District Attorney Jill Ravitch announced today that her office, together with the District Attorneys of Alameda, Napa, San Diego, and Shasta Counties, settled a consumer protection lawsuit against Nakedwines.com, Inc. (“Naked Wines”), an online seller of wine. The complaint, which was filed in San Diego County Superior Court, alleges that Naked Wines violated California’s Automatic Renewal Law. Read full story

Sonoma County Health Officer requires flu shots for health care workers, recommends them for public
Sonoma County Health Officer Dr. Sundari Mase issued a health order today requiring workers at certain health care and congregate facilities to get vaccinated against influenza (flu). The flu vaccine requirement applies to all workers who have the potential for direct or indirect exposure to patients or residents. Workers include nurses, physicians, technicians, therapists and pharmacists at such facilities as acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, psychiatric hospitals, dialysis centers, dental offices and others. Permit Sonoma releases final redevelopment plans for Sonoma Developmental Center
Permit Sonoma has released the final Environmental Impact Report (EIR) and Specific Plan that will guide the redevelopment of the Sonoma Developmental Center (SDC). The final Specific Plan incorporated public comments to the draft that enhance protection for the more than 700 acres of open space and ensure that affordable housing is built before or at the same time as the market-rate housing. Valley of the Moon Children’s Center serves 1,000th child through dental program
More than 1,000 children in Sonoma County have now received free dental care through a partnership between Valley of the Moon Children’s Foundation and the county Human Services Department, which operates Valley of the Moon Children’s Center. Read full story
Vanessa Fuchs selected as Chief Probation Officer for County of Sonoma
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors on Oct. 25 is expected to confirm the appointment of Vanessa Fuchs as the county’s new Chief Probation Officer. Fuchs, who has been with the Sonoma County Probation Department since 1998, most recently serving as Deputy Chief Probation Officer, was selected following a nationwide search. Read full story

SERIAL CHILD MOLESTER SENTENCED TO LIFE WITHOUT THE POSSIBILITY OF PAROLE
