Sonoma County Announces Formation of Fire Memorial Task Force

In June 2022, the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors approved the creation and installation of a memorialartwork recognizing the impact of the Sonoma Complex Fires on the County’s residents and specificallyhonoring the memories of those whose lives were lost. The project will be overseen by a Fire Memorial TaskForce in conjunction with Creative Sonoma, a division of the County’s Economic Development Board. Read full story

Sonoma County partners with local bee farmer to establish seasonal apiary near Healdsburg Transfer Station

Sonoma County today announced a three-year agreement with Tauzer Apiaries of Northern California to host up to 120 beehives seasonally on a portion of vacant county property adjacent to the Healdsburg Transfer Station, the county’s refuse disposal and recycling facility on Alexander Valley Road. Sonoma County issues freeze alert

The County of Sonoma is issuing a freeze alert in response to the National Weather Service’s prediction of sub-freezing temperatures overnight tonight through Thursday morning. Officials recommend that residents limit time outdoors as serious medical conditions including hypothermia and frostbite can develop with prolonged exposure to cold weather. Read full story

Voter information guides and official ballots for the March 7 special election will begin going out in the mail on Monday, Feb. 6, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters announced today. Two Sonoma County vaccine clinics to close at the end of February

COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the Rohnert Park Community Center and the Roseland Community Clinic in Santa Rosa will close by the end of February. The Roseland clinic will close on Feb. 25 and the Rohnert Park clinic will close on Feb. 28, the day that Gov. Gavin Newsom plans to lift California’s COVID-19 state of emergency. Read full story
