Charles M. Schulz — Sonoma County Airport announces non-stop service to Palm Springs on Alaska Airlines
Charles M. Schulz – Sonoma County Airport today announced that Alaska Airlines will add Palm Springs as a non-stop destination from STS. The popular route will operate seasonally, with service commencing in October and ending in May of each calendar year. The first flight is scheduled for Oct. 26. Alaska Airlines will service Palm Springs with five weekly round-trip flights, utilizing their 76-seat Embraer 175 aircraft. Read full story

Permit Sonoma to release draft Community Vision and Guiding Principles for General Plan update
Permit Sonoma is wrapping up the yearlong Community Vision phase of General Plan Sonoma, its update to General Plan 2020. After months of outreach and engagement with residents across the county, a Draft Vision Statement and set of Guiding Principles—shaped by community input—will be released alongside a summary of public input and a proposed approach to next steps. Board of Supervisors approves funding for mobile crisis teams through Measure O
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today authorized the funding of five mobile crisis agreements to ensure that emergency mental health services in the cities of Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Cotati and Rohnert Park, and Sonoma State University, will be able to continue through June 30, 2026. The contracts amount to $5.98 million, reflecting an increase of 61% over the previous fiscal year, and are funded by Measure O, the quarter-cent sales tax approved by voters in 2020 for mental health and homelessness services. FEMA releases preliminary flood maps for Santa Rosa Creek Watershed
The Federal Emergency Management Agency has released preliminary flood maps for the Santa Rosa Creek Watershed. The preliminary maps identify high-risk flood zones, referred to as Special Flood Hazard Areas. Properties in these areas may be subject to flood insurance requirements and stricter building regulations. Read full story
Board of Supervisors to hold TRUTH Act Forum to review Sheriff’s Office data on ICE access
Sonoma County residents are invited to participate in a community forum to learn about when the Sheriff’s Office Detention Division provides information about certain incarcerated persons to federal immigration authorities.
