ESC Negotiations Public Update
The County of Sonoma and ESC met for their fourth bargaining session on February 7, 2023. The parties continued discussions on the County’s total compensation survey. The parties are scheduled to resume negotiations on February 15, 2023. Read full story
County to begin mailing voter information guides, ballots to voters in March special election
Voter information guides and official ballots for the March 7 special election will begin going out in the mail on Monday, Feb. 6, the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters announced today. Please note that this election applies to fewer than 3,000 voters residing in the Schell-Vista Fire Protection District and the Timber Cove Fire Protection District. Read full story

ESC Negotiations Public Update
The County of Sonoma and ESC met for their third bargaining session on February 3, 2023. The County provided its initial economic proposal, which included a three-year term, immediate market equity adjustments, cost of living adjustments in each year of the contract, increased County medical contributions, and additional legacy-employee pension cost share provisions. The Union proposed modifications related to various contract sections, including staff development and wellness allowance, vacation savings plan, licensure reimbursements, premium pay for field work, and uniforms. The parties are scheduled to resume negotiations on February 7, 2023. Read full story

Two Sonoma County vaccine clinics to close at the end of February
COVID-19 vaccine clinics at the Rohnert Park Community Center and the Roseland Community Clinic in Santa Rosa will close by the end of February. The Roseland clinic will close on Feb. 25 and the Rohnert Park clinic will close on Feb. 28, the day that Gov. Gavin Newsom plans to lift California’s COVID-19 state of emergency. Read full story
Sonoma County coordinating with California Department of Food and Agriculture in response to Asian Citrus Psyllid
The Sonoma County Department of Agriculture / Weights & Measures today announced it is coordinating with the California Department of Food and Agriculture in responding to the presence in Sonoma Valley of Asian Citrus Psyllid, a serious pest of citrus that can carry and vector a disease called Citrus Greening disease, or Huanglongbing. Board of Supervisors endorses region wide strategic plan to address homelessness
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors voted today to support a five-year strategic plan to reduce homelessness, one developed by the Continuum of Care, the county’s homeless services system of care. The Continuum of Care Board approved the plan unanimously on Dec. 14, 2022. Read full story

Board of Supervisors approves site selection, design criteria for new county government center
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today approved the selection of the existing county administration center site on Administration Drive in Santa Rosa for a phased construction of a new Sonoma County Government Center. Read full story
