Notice of Public Hearing - Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-2025 Annual Action Plan and FY 2021-2022 Annual Action Plan Substantial Amendment
The Sonoma County Community Development Committee and the Cities and Towns Advisory Committee will hold a concurrent public hearing on March 20, 2024 to consider funding applications submitted for the following funding sources: Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME), HOME Community Housing Development Organization (HOME-CHDO), Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG), HOME American Rescue Plan (HOME-ARP), and Low and Moderate Income Housing Asset Fund (LMIHAF). Measure O annual report shows increase in funding for essential homelessness, mental health services
The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors today accepted the Measure O update and annual report for fiscal year 2022–23. Presented by the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for Measure O, a quarter-cent sales tax that was approved by voters in 2020 to fund mental health, substance abuse disorder and homelessness services, the annual report provides an update on the growing list of achievements attained during this second full year of the measure. Sonoma County to host first-ever Farmworkers Resource Fair on March 3 in Windsor

Ceasefire Letter
On February 22, 2024, the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights voted unanimously to pass a ceasefire letter that reads the following: In light of the severe human rights violations occurring in Gaza, Palestine, and Israel, the Sonoma County Commission on Human Rights extends this appeal to all parties involved and affected community members. West Sonoma County to celebrate opening of new satellite office in Guerneville on March 2
Supervisor Lynda Hopkins and the District 5 staff will host an open house and ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 2 to celebrate the opening of a new district satellite office. The satellite office is located at 16390 Main St., Guerneville, in the former Bank of America building. Read full story
Early in-person voting begins this weekend for March Presidential Primary Election
Early in-person voting for the March 5, 2024, Presidential Primary Election opens this weekend, Deva Marie Proto, Sonoma County Clerk-Recorder-Assessor-Registrar of Voters, announced today. Seven vote centers will be open for 11 consecutive days (including weekends) from Saturday, Feb. 24, to Election Day, Tuesday, March 5. Hours of operation for the vote centers will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on Election Day itself when the hours will be extended from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Read full story
SoCoAlert and warning exercise for the town of Windsor on Wednesday
On Wednesday, February 28 Sonoma County will be conducting a test of the SoCoAlert emergency notification system starting at 11 a.m. in Windsor and selected Sonoma County evacuation zones adjacent to the town. The County Department of Emergency Management and partners have collaborated on planning the exercise and conducting outreach in the targeted areas. Testing the efficiency of messaging to Spanish-speaking residents was a priority for the exercise planners. Read full story
